What is Dubai Walk?

The Dubai Walk project will build 6,500 kilometers of walkways across the city. This is like having paths that go from New Delhi to Chennai and back! Out of these, 2,300 kilometers will be old pathways that are fixed up, and the rest will be new. The aim is to make walking easier for everyone by 2040.

Special Features of Dubai Walk

One of the coolest parts of the project is called the Future Loop. This is a special path near the Museum of the Future that will be raised above the ground and have air-conditioning. This means even when it’s very hot, people can walk comfortably. This path will connect important places like the Burj Khalifa and the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Why is Dubai Doing This?

Dubai wants to make walking more popular because it’s healthy and better for the environment. Instead of many cars on the road causing pollution, walking paths help keep the air clean. The plan is to have more people walking, from 13% now to 25% by 2040.

Learning from Other Cities

Cities like New York and Barcelona have shown how walkable areas can make life better. These cities have fewer cars, cleaner air, and happier people. Dubai wants to learn from them and make sure its paths are beautiful and useful.

Benefits of Walking

  • Walking helps people stay fit and healthy.

  • It reduces stress and makes people feel happier.

  • Walkable areas help people meet and talk to each other, building stronger communities.

In summary, Dubai is working hard to make walking a fun and easy way to get around the city. By 2040, the city hopes to be a place where everyone can enjoy clean air, beautiful paths, and a healthy lifestyle, much like walking through a peaceful village path but with modern facilities.
